The Tobacco-Free Coalition of Weld County is a collaboration of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment’s Tobacco Education Program and local partners who are passionate about decreasing tobacco use and improving the health of the community.

To empower the residents of Weld County to create a tobacco-free environment
through education, prevention and a commitment to the health of the community.
What are our goals?
The Tobacco-Free Coalition of Weld County is committed to educating and implementing new and existing tobacco policies including: preventing youth from starting, helping people who use tobacco to quit, assisting in the reduction of and protection from second-hand smoke, and reducing tobacco use among groups that are disproportionately affected and/or at high risk.
When and where do we meet?
Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every other month from 12:00PM-1:30PM

What are our goals?
- Reduce youth access to tobacco by advocating for effective policies in the tobacco and e-cigarette retail environment.
- Advocate and assist in the implementation of policies that expand smoke and vapor free protections throughout Weld County.
- Support the reduction of tobacco use among groups that are disproportionately affected and/or at high risk of tobacco use.
- Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death. Roughly 5,100 Coloradans die every year from tobacco related diseases. This is more than from AIDS, car accidents, alcohol, murders, heroin, crack, cocaine, suicide, and fires combined.
- Every year more than 2,400 Colorado youth become daily tobacco users. More than 655,000 Coloradans are regular smokers.
- Tobacco contains more the 4,000 chemicals including 69 cancer-causing agents.
